Our Story

COVID note: InterGen Studio is working closely with school officials and senior groups to ensure the program is held in a COVID-safe environment, and according to the rules and directions from the local official entities.

HAPPENING FALL 2022

InterGen Studio is partnering with the McCord Museum to run a 3-month program in Montreal, connecting seniors and youth over their shared love of capturing stories. Sharing Our Memories Together is an intergenerational program where participants focus on archiving stories through filmmaking. With the guidance of the McCord Museum, the participants will receive direction in empathic learning, memories and archiving. The InterGen Studio brings together mentorship, storytelling and hands-on learning of filmmaking mediums.

The intergenerational groups will use the following weeks to focus on what story they want to tell, while learning how to use their filmmaking framework to showcase it.

unit04

Participants will film their stories and be in full InterGen Studio mode! With the guidance of their mentors, participants will work on interviews, b-roll, and filming in general.

During post-production, participants will learn about the digital softwares used to edit films. They will edit their films, source sound recordings and add any graphics needed.
The goal? Create a broadcast-quality video to be showcased in December.
